The longtime chief of the Runnemede Police Department was among those caught in a prostitution sting yesterday at a Maple Shade brothel, police said.
James Martin Leason, 56, was arrested around noon as he left an apartment at the Arbors Apartments on South Lenola Road, police said.
Also arrested, police said, were the brothel's madam, two prostitutes and two others. Full Story...
SEX workers from a Territory mining town will use the Internet to attract customers from around the world, it was revealed last night.
Daisy's Delights Escort agency owner Narelle Bennetts came up with the idea after she was banned from advertising in the Arafura Times - the only local newspaper in Gove, a small mining community 650km east of Darwin.
The ban crippled her escort business.
But Ms Bennetts, 43, said she had joined forces with Queensland-based internet company, www.australian-babe.com, to establish an internet website featuring Gove escorts.
The site will offer live one-on-one chats with girls, webcam video conferencing, and live online "preview shows" around the clock.
"It was an idea that came to me when I was just about to call it quits because of the advertising ban and the general reaction of some of the women in the town," Ms Bennetts said.
"I think it's a brilliant idea.
"It gets around the problem of the newspaper ban, and you don't get the problem of customers complaining about not getting a look at what they are going to get before actually paying."
BRADENTON, Florida -- The county took the battle over strippers showing too much skin to the nation's highest court.
County attorney Jim Minix said Manatee County filed a petition asking the U.S. Supreme Court to overturn a decision that the county hasn't proven that strip clubs harm the community.
In July, the 11th U.S. Court of Appeals in Atlanta said a federal judge shouldn't have dismissed a lawsuit filed by two strip clubs seeking to overturn county nudity ordinances.
Minix argued the appeals court misinterpreted past Supreme Court decisions about efforts to rein in adult entertainment. The petition focused specifically on three past Supreme Court decisions dealing with public nudity and efforts to restrict adult businesses. Full Story...

Officials in Los Martires came up with the idea after a meeting with prostitutes' representatives, residents, police and bar owners.

West Des Moines topless dancers who paint their nipples with skin-colored latex are within a city nudity law, a Polk County judge has ruled.
Magistrate Jeff Lipman found that using skin-colored latex does not violate a West Des Moines city ordinance outlawing the display of certain body parts. The highly technical law forbids, among other things, exposure of female nipples by any entertainer in a liquor-selling establishment.
Police say the issue came to light after a routine check at the Beach Girls strip bar last August led to three indecent-exposure citations. Full Story...
An Indianapolis woman was arrested and her boyfriend's vintage Buick impounded because an image of a naked exotic dancer painted on it was visible to children.
The car's owner said Friday the image is art. Police say it is obscene.
Erica Meredith, 25, was charged Thursday with disseminating matter harmful to minors, a Class D felony, after police saw the painting when she was stopped for driving the 1976 Buick with a broken taillight.
In his report, the arresting officer wrote that the painting on the flat part of the trunk, "applying contemporary standards, displays a theme which appeals to the prurient interest of sex."

Two 12-year-old girls have been "encouraged" to leave their school by the headteacher after they were caught charging boys money for a public kissing session in the school cafeteria.
The schoolgirls, who have not been identified, apparently got the idea for the kiss after watching Britney Spears and Madonna kiss during last year's MTV awards.
