City council flip-flop on escort zoning
Four COPE city councillors Vancouver city council have changed their minds about allowing escort services to operate in city-designated live-work spaces.
Earlier this week, council voted 4-3 to allow escort services, dating services and massage parlours to do business from the specially-zoned locations.
That left the impression the city was allowing prostitutes to operate from their homes.
But city hall issued a statement Friday saying the change was intended to put escort services on equal footing with other businesses – not to change the country's prostitution laws. Full Story...
