A former Oklahoma County assistant public defender was arrested after he went to work for an escort service that actually was operated by police.

An affidavit says Jeffery H. Contreras was arrested on Wednesday by undercover Oklahoma City police officers for offering to engage. Contreras hasn't been charged.

Court documents indicate Contreras called the undercover escort service and asked if he could interview for a job. He was hired and met a female undercover officer who said she wanted to pay for sex. Full Story...

The Supreme Court struck down a Texas ban on gay sex Thursday, ruling that the law was an unconstitutional violation of privacy.

The justices voted 6-3 in striking down the Texas law, saying it violated due process guarantees.

The majority opinion, written by Justice Anthony Kennedy, appears to cover similar laws in 12 other states and reverses a 1986 high court ruling upholding sodomy laws. Kennedy wrote that homosexuals have "the full right to engage in private conduct without government intervention."

"The state cannot demean their existence or control their destiny by making their private sexual conduct a crime," Kennedy wrote, according to a report from The Associated Press. Full Story...

Dutch escort agency has opened a credit line for customers who want to pay for girls by installments.

The Blue Diamond Escort service came up with the offer to try to drum up extra business.

A spokesman said: "We are no charity organisation. It's pure business. If there is more competition, you need to come up with something new to keep your clients.

"And that rule is as true for selling sex as it is for selling laundry machines."

NEW YORK (Reuters Health) - "Boom or bust" may take on new meaning as researchers theorize a link between U.S. economic conditions and subtle changes in Playboy centerfold physiques.

According to researchers, a comparison of the faces and figures of Playmates of the Year from 1960 to 2000 suggests men may prefer stronger-looking women in hard times, and softer, more vulnerable types when bull markets resume.

Two golf course owners have been charged with pimping after naked women allegedly enticed golfers into tents near putting greens. Police say the women offered lap dances and sex for money in the tents at the Hidden Valley Golf Club at Norco, California. The U.S. Supreme Court upheld on Monday a law requiring the nation's public libraries to filter out Internet pornography, ruling it does not violate free-speech rights. Sen. Orrin Hatch's Web woes just won't go away. Until Friday, a link on the conservative Republican's website led to a pornographic site. As previously reported, Hatch's website used unlicensed software for its menu system. Earlier in the week, Hatch (R-Utah) suggested in Congress that people who steal copyright works off the Internet should have their computers automatically destroyed. Under such a scheme, Hatch's own website servers probably would have qualified for the punishment. On Thursday, it got worse. Inquisitive surfers discovered that one of the links on the senator's site led to a pornographic website. A link on a page titled Explore Utah led to a site called Bignaturals.com.

BATON ROUGE -- A bill to ban sex acts performed for the purpose of drawing public attention got final legislative approval Wednesday and is on its way to Gov. Foster for his approval or rejection. If Foster signs the bill or allows it to become law without his signature, it would take effect Aug. 15. The House voted 100-0 for House Bill 1981 by Rep. Cops yesterday were hunting for the killer of a pretty 19-year-old Nigerian woman found savagely stabbed to death in her Upper East Side apartment, as new details emerged about the victim.
Ifeyinwa Ikechukwu, who was found dead at about 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in her fourth-floor apartment at 60th Street and First Avenue, allegedly worked as an escort, and advertised her services in newspapers, including the Village Voice, police sources said. Because jurors who convicted Jennifer Dute last year of pandering obscenity didn't get to see similar porn videos declared not obscene, her conviction and one-year prison sentence were thrown out Friday by a divided Ohio appeals court panel. "Debate (over obscenity) is good. I just don't believe that debate should take place in a courtroom where somebody's liberty is at stake," Lou Sirkin, Dute's attorney, said Friday.
